Film layers

What we apply when glass needs to work harder.

01

Solar & heat control

Cut glare and heat gain on west-facing elevations and glazed meeting rooms so HVAC is not fighting the sun all afternoon. Specs matched to orientation and occupancy, not a one-tint-fits-all roll.

  • Survey of elevation and glass type
  • Film grades balanced for visible light vs. rejection
  • Edge finishing that survives cleaning regimes
02

Privacy & manifestation

Frost, gradients, and manifestation that meet safety marking needs while keeping interiors usable. Reception-to-back-of-house transitions without boarding up the daylight.

  • Manifestation compliant layouts
  • Gradient and band privacy options
  • Brand colour matching within film limits
03

Graphics & brand on glass

One-way vision, opaque print zones, and campaign wraps for retail and showroom glass — designed for install tolerances on real façades, not only mockups.

  • Artwork prep for large-format glass
  • Seam planning on wide panes
  • Removal plans for seasonal campaigns
04

Safety & security film

Hold-together films for risk areas, schools, and street-facing retail where broken glass must not become shrapnel. Specified with honesty about what film can and cannot do.

  • Risk-led product selection
  • Anchoring advice where systems require it
  • Documentation for facilities & insurers
05

Fleet & commercial vehicle tint

Liveried vans and crew vehicles with legal-aware tinting, cabin comfort, and branding that still looks sharp after a winter on the A470.

  • Legal visible light guidance for drivers’ view
  • Fleet batch scheduling
  • Match work across mixed vehicle types
06

Maintenance & remedial

Bubbles, edge lift, and failed DIY jobs. We assess, advise repair vs. strip-and-replace, and leave glass cleaner than we found it.

  • Condition surveys
  • Strip-out with surface care
  • Re-film with corrected prep

VLT bench

Drag the slider — see how tint depth changes the room.

Illustrative visible light transmission for client conversations. Final specs follow survey and product data sheets.

Meeting room · west elevation

55% VLT

Higher VLT — brighter interiors, less privacy, milder solar kick.

Lower VLT — stronger privacy/glare cut; watch artificial lighting loads.

We never sell a percentage without seeing the glass, the orientation, and how the room is used.

Swatch rack

Finishes clients actually point at on site.

Neutral solar — everyday offices and glazed stairs.

Install bay

How a job moves through Unit 2.

Bay A · Survey

Glass type, frames, access, cleaning regime, and photos. We catch tempered logos, defective seals, and “that pane opens” surprises before film is cut.

Bay B · Spec

Product data, mock corners if needed, and a written scope: elevations, exclusions, and cure times. Quotes without site truth are fiction.

Bay C · Prep

Deep clean, clay where required, and edge discipline. Dirt left under film becomes a warranty conversation you did not want.

Bay D · Fit

Cut, wet or dry method as specified, squeegee pattern, and heat shrink on curves. Fleet work scheduled so vehicles are not hostage for days.

Bay E · Handover

Care sheet, cure window, and snag walk. Facilities get the aftercare rules in writing — not a shrug.

Sectors

Glass problems we see on Welsh and UK sites.

Offices & HQs

Glare on screens, overheating boardrooms, and manifestation that still looks like 2009.

Retail & showrooms

Campaign glass, privacy for fitting areas, and façades that must change without wrecking the substrate.

Healthcare & clinics

Dignity privacy with daylight retained; cleanable surfaces; clear aftercare.

Education

Safety film, corridor manifestation, and rooms that need calm — not fishbowl anxiety.

Industrial & warehouses

Office pods on factory floors, reception glare, and fleet waiting in the yard.

Hospitality

Bar partitions, hotel corridors, and branded entrance bands that photograph well at dusk.

Site notes

Jobs that changed how the glass behaved.

Valley HQ with a furnace for a west wing

Staff migrated desks daily to escape glare. After survey we specified a neutral solar grade by elevation, not a single dark film. Complaints fell; lighting loads stayed sensible because we did not cave the VLT to zero.

Retail chain seasonal wrap

Three-month campaign on fragile older glass. We planned seams, used removable systems, and scheduled night fits. Strip-out left adhesive discipline facilities could live with.

Clinic privacy without bunkers

Frost bands at seated eye-line, clear above for daylight. Patients stopped feeling displayed; clinicians kept orientation to the corridor.

Warranty stamp

What we stand behind — and what we will not pretend.

TVCL
FIT
  • Workmanship warranty periods stated on every quote
  • Manufacturer film warranties passed through where applicable
  • Cure and cleaning rules included in handover
  • Exclusions listed: damaged seals, defective glass, misuse
  • Remedial visits logged — not argued from memory

Spec desk FAQ

Asked before the first site visit.

Do you supply film only?

We can supply for approved installers, but most commercial clients want survey-to-handover from one accountable team.

Is dark always better for heat?

No. Modern films reject heat without turning rooms into caves. We spec for the elevation and the work happening inside.

Can you match an existing tint?

Often within a range. Perfect matches across different ages of film are not always possible — we will say so early.

How do we start?
